In late June the Dongguan International Marathon announced its return. This year it is scheduled for December 22 and is part of the 17th Asian Marathon Championship. Dongguan became the third city in China to host the Asian Marathon Championship after Beijing and Hong Kong. The route starts at the Central City Square and ends in Songshan Lake. It is estimated that 30 thousand people will join this event in different groups: full-marathon (42.195 km), half-marathon (21.0975 km), mini-marathon (5.2 km) and fun run (2.6 km).
Because it is so popular, people who register are put into a draw to enter the race. In 2017, 82 percent of people who registered successfully took part in the full-marathon, and 52 percent in the half-marathon. The registration will open soon, so get ready to save your spot.
