On August 2, 40 middle school students and teachers from four sister cities in Korea, Germany, Czech Republic and Ethiopia joined together for a week-long summer camp with 48 local students in Dongguan. On the first day, the camp visited the dragon and lion dance training base in Hongmei Town to watch the performance. “This is the first time I came to Dongguan. It’s a beautiful city. The roads are much wider than in our country,” commented Natnael Mulugeta from Ethiopia. During the summer camp, students experienced Chinese and Lingnan (South China) traditional cultures, including calligraphy, Chinese martial arts, Cantonese opera and ceramic making.
