The Quickest Way to Huizhou

Dongguan-Huizhou Intercity Railway from Daojiao, Dongguan to Xiao Jin Kou, Huizhou, finally opened in January.

31 trains run daily with the earliest leaving from Daojiao Station at 7:05 am and the latest one leaving from Xiao JinKou Station at 9 pm.

The length of the railway is 103.1 km, with 10 stations in Dongguan and seven in Huizhou. The designated speed is 200 km/hour. So far, it takes about an hour and 40 minutes for the entire line. The line covers all stations in Dongguan in about 54 minutes.

Normally, to buy train tickets, passengers can simply use the ticket machines within the station. However, in order to cross from Dongguan to Huizhou (and vice versa), foreign passengers will need their passport to acquire tickets from the ticket desk. For payment, cash, Alipay, WeChat and Union Pay are available.

“It’s very convenient to buy the tickets, most of the signs were in English as well…” John Acton, one foreigner who experienced the railway recently said, “For the interchange at Xiping Xi, it’s very easy to go from the railway to the underground subway.”

The railway also attaches Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway and Foshan-Dongguan Intercity Railway. Convenience amongst the Pearl River Delta is constantly increasing.
