Dongguan is famous for its cured meat’s craftsmanship. In order to spread the cured meat culture, the First Dongguan Cured Meat (CM) Festival will run from November 8, 2017 to January 20, 2018, including the Opening Ceremony, Intangible Cultural Heritage Cross-border Dialogue Forum, Catering Culture and Intangible Cultural Heritage Interview, CM Package Designing Contest, and CM Traveling Line.

The CM Package Designing Contest curiously combines catering and culture. Anyone who is interested to compete can register online. For the CM Traveling Line, the goal is to meld catering and travel. The line will be open for tourists who are interested in cured meat, and those who join can pick up some prepared meat on the cheap.
