New GZ, DG, SZ & HK Train Circle

From April 16, Dongguan will have its first direct train to Zhuhai, with only 90 minutes’ traveling time, an hour less compared to driving. This is actually an extension of the existing Chaoshan-Guangzhounan high-speed line. The train will continue to Zhuhai Railway station after Guangzhounan. The adjustment was made quietly and only one train will go to Zhuhai each day. Since Zhuhai Railway Station is next to Gongbei border, going to Macao will be much easier from Humen Railway Station.

Soon, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong will all be in a half-hour distance, as well. The Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Rapid Transit System (RTS) is planned to be completed later this year and will start from Guangzhoubei Railway Station, go through Baiyun Airport and Zengcheng, pass by Dongguan’s Wangniudun, Hongmei, Shatian, Houjie, Humen, Chang’an stops, and finally ending at Shenzhen Airport. The whole trip will take 60 minutes with trains available every two minutes.

In the third quarter of 2018, the high-speed train to West Kowloon in Hong Kong will open, connecting the existing Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen high-speed network and extending all the way to Beijing. Going from Humen to Hong Kong will only take half an hour. By then, three tracks will be running among Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The east regular railway will go through Dongguan Railway Station in Shilong to Shenzhen’s Luohu. The west RTS will travel through Dongguan’s waterfront towns and Chang’an to Shenzhen. The middle high-speed trail will ride through Humen to West Kowloon.
