The eight-team tournament included TLC, QSI and ISD from right here in Dongguan.

All three, along with Shekou International School (SIS), entered the semi-finals competing for the coveted trophy. The first semi saw TLC’s Wolverines take on the QSI Dongguan Tritons in a hotly contested three set match. Charlotte Soler’s serving helped The Wolverines prevail, opening an opportunity to play for the Championship and sending crosstown rival QSI to the 3rd/4th place game. QSI Dongguan showed true grit and competitive spirit rallying from the loss to beat SIS in two sets for third place on the back of Sophie Boysen’s clutch serving and dominant net play.

In the second semi-final match the ISD Qilins quickly dispatched the SIS Geckos behind the powerful serving of Grace Cai to set up the all Dongguan finals between schools 17 kilometers apart. The ladies from both teams displayed determination, teamwork and sportsmanship in a highly competitive finals matchup before the Qilins prevailed in two sets for the Championship.
