CBA Season Wrap-Up

02_15_SCENE_CBA Season Wrap-UpThe final game of the 2014-15 CBA Season was February 1 and the playoffs race is underway beginning February 6. The Guangdong Southern Tigers were 30-3 at press time, holding on to first place with a two game lead over the Liaoning Hunters (31-5 ). The teams split their regular season meetings with the hometeam losing both games by four and three points respectively.

What a difference a year has made for the Dongguan Leopards. Last year the Leopards finished the regular season in third and made it to the semi-finals before losing to Xinjiang. In the off-season Donte Green was waived and Head Coach Brian Goorjian was moved to assistant coach.

The Leopards were 24-12 with two games left. Former NBA point guard, Bobby Brown, leads the Leopards with nearly 32 points per game, while dishing out almost seven dimes and grabbing 4.6 rebounds. Former Tiger, now Leopard, Ike Diogu added 22 points and 10 rebounds a game.

Coach Goorjian, coming off a tough loss late in the season to cross town rival Guangdong Tigers, said, “We were missing a couple of key players tonight due to injuries, but hope to have them ready for the playoffs.”
