The biggest of the area’s golf clubs, Mission Hills, launches its 11th year of the tournament that let’s members, guests and package holders play 10 of its 12 courses. Prices vary, but it is a good chance to play a lot of golf. Qualifying play runs through May 1 through September 30 and can be played Monday to Friday. For a chance to play Long Island Golf and Country Club in Chang’an, find a member. Guests this season can play Mondays and Tuesdays at a promotion rate of RMB 850. Ladies can play the course for RMB 660 and can partake in the guest discount on Wednesdays as well.

For a day out with a large group of likeminded players who like to play a little golf in between drinking, the monthly Cavemen Golf Tournament, organized with a sign-up sheet at One for the Road English Pub, will take place on May 23. The tournament is governed by captain’s choice, best ball rules and matches players from all levels of play on each team. Fees depend on the course, varying between RMB 800 to 1,100, and this month’s round, according to Owner/Manager Jason Cakebread, will be at either Harbour Plaza or Mission Hills.
